The CIL ASSP Chapter is having a joint meeting coordinated by the Student Section. The meeting will be a review and discussion of the ISU Emergency Operations Center, hosted by Eric Hodges the ISU Director of Emergency Management. ISU Emergency Management is involved before, during and after emergencies and disasters. Ideally, the department strives to prevent emergencies from occurring, but that can be unrealistic. At best, they can mitigate the negative impacts of emergencies by taking deliberate actions. However, they spend a vast majority of their time in preparedness activities. They collaborate with campus partners to develop emergency plans; conduct drills and exercises; engage in outreach activities to promote awareness of various emergencies and share strategies for personal safety. When emergencies and disasters do strike, Emergency Management serves as the coordination body for the University. They continue coordinating activities through Continuity and generally transition to another body for long-term recovery.

Parking for this meeting is available in lots F61 and F71, directly North of the Nelson Smith Building. Unpermitted parking will be permitted in lots F61 and F71 during our event times from 5-7pm. The Nelson Smith Building is the building where the ISU Police Department is located at 718 W. College Avenue in Normal, just West of Redbird Arena.
