Our March 20, 2026 chapter meeting will be a plant tour at the ADM Flour Mill in Mendota, IL.  This chapter meeting tour is limited to 20 participants!  Registration is required in advance for a specific headcount. Sandwiches and water will be provided at the meeting. Please bring a soft drink of your choice if you prefer something other than water.  Due to the remote nature of the location and coordination of the meeting, we won’t be able to provide dietary restricted meals.  Please feel free to bring your own meal of choice if you have dietary restrictions.

What: Flour mill with a 30,000 cwt capacity shipped out via bags, bulk truck, and rail; opened in 2019.

This tour is limited to 20 participants and registration is required!

Wear pants and closed toed shoes. PPE: gloves, safety glasses, hard hat, safety toe footwear, hi-vis garments, hearing protection, hairnets, and beard nets (the site will have PPE available to lend out during the tour).

After this training you will be able to: Understand ANSI/ISEA Z358.1-2014 significant requirements, conduct weekly & annual inspections, identify compliance best practices.

Michelle is currently the Director of National Accounts for Haws Corporation.  She has 20 years of experience working with the ANSI Z358.1 Standard, this includes conducting well over 300 eyewash surveys/inspections during her career.

We will be having our Executive Committee Meeting at 10:15am, immediately prior to the chapter meeting.  All chapter members are encouraged and welcome to attend the Executive Committee meeting to provide learn about our chapter governance and to provide valuable input into the chapter governance decisions.

Who: Harry ‘Hap’ Hileman – Outreach Coordinator from the Illinois Department of Labor – Onsite Consultation Program

Harry “Hap” Hileman has been the IL Dept of Labor’s On-Site Marketing/Outreach Coordinator since August of 2020.  Hap started with IDOL in 2018 as an IL OSHA Safety Inspector.  Before IDOL, Hap Hileman was a Safety Specialist with the IL Army National Guard and a private industrial tank manufacturer.  Hap has served in the U.S. military since 1994, holding diverse duty assignments from a Navy Seabee to the United States Transportation Command. He received his master’s degree from the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College. He volunteers as a youth wrestling coach and lives and works in Springfield, IL.

What:  Expectations, Realities and Your Rights During an OSHA Inspection

Most people have an idea of what an OSHA inspection entails and might know someone who has gone through one, but the reality is that most employers have never experienced a comprehensive inspection. As a former OSHA inspector, Harry will outline the basic format of an inspection or investigation and what the compliance officer is looking for.  In addition, we will talk about the employer’s rights, obligations and follow-up requirements.
